Tell us more about yourself and what led you to your current position. What three words would you use to describe your role?

My name is Manisha Mittal, and I am a Sales Manager for the Middle East region with Ruptela.
Visionary, Interesting & Collaborative would be these three words to describe my role here.

What made you pursue a career in tech? How did you become interested in telematics and join Ruptela?

I was introduced to the telematics industry in 2017-2018, and there I learned about Ruptela and its reputation. It’s undoubtedly the leading company in telematics, and I finally got the opportunity in 2021.

Working in tech is more like providing future solutions in the present era, and the telematics industry is the one place that gives you the path to learn and grow at the same time. I have always wanted to stay updated with the latest technology, and I believe telematics is one of the industries where you get to learn operations of different countries and their additional country-specific requirements.

How does your journey at Ruptela looks like?

My journey so far has been really good. I had the opportunity to meet some of the best people, and I am fortunate to call them my colleagues. This company has also given me a lot of learning and development prospects. Thus, my experience has been exciting, challenging, and rewarding at the same time.

How do you start your day? Please share any rituals or tips&tricks that help you stay productive all-day.

Usually, I start my day by checking my emails, making my to-do list, and planning my day accordingly. This has helped me a lot to meet my deadlines. A few tricks that have helped me be productive all day are planning in advance what needs to be done and setting timelines for finishing the tasks. Once you know what you need to do, execution is easier and better.

What motivates you to go to work every day?

I like that I contribute to achieving the company’s goal, and this job provides me the chance to make an impact. Every day I learn something new and keep finding innovative solutions which serve the company as well as our clients.

What are your job’s most challenging and most cheering elements? What do you think is the most exciting part of being a woman in the tech industry?

The most challenging and, at the same time, the most cheering element of my job role are People. When we talk about clients, it is a cheering moment when they come with unique challenges specific to their requirements.

We, Women, are well known for multi-tasking, and being in the tech industry with this quality makes us shine better. This industry has allowed me to meet with new people, and it has also allowed me to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and a lot of human interfaces.

How do you balance work and life?

I believe females are blessed with unique genes that bring balance in everything we do with our charm, be it either work or life, and I do the same. And I have been blessed with the best team to work with, where we all take responsibility equally, making work more fun and easy-going at the same time. And this brings more positivity into life.

Tell us more about your hobbies

I love swimming, reading books, and binge-watching OTT series. The city where I live has the best beaches in the world. Apart from these, I also enjoy driving, and it’s more like a therapy thing to clear my mind.

Interesting facts about you.

I love shopping, and I am a die-hard K-drama fan. I hate Lizards. And I can write in both straight and cursive fonts.

What is your favorite place in the world? Why?

My favorite place is my home with my family in India. Apart from home, I love Dubai. Dubai is my home away from home, and this city’s vibe and warmth are more than I could have ever asked for. I have so many places on my bucket list I would like to visit, like Iceland to see the Northern lights, Italy and Bali in the future.

What advice can you give to women considering a career in the telematics sector? What do you wish you had known?

The telematics industry is mainly perceived as the men‘s sector, as it has its fair share of technicalities and work requiring physical and mental proficiency. But once you enter this world, you understand what you were missing. I would like to advise any woman considering a career in the telematics sector to come with an open mind – every job has its own share of challenges, but you get to experience the scope of futuristic technologies and how they can be beneficial for everyone around.

I would like to take this opportunity to highlight that being a part of Ruptela has given me a chance to stand equally. This place never demanded any extra effort from me to prove my efficiency because of my gender.
