Tell us more about yourself and what led you to your current position.

Originating from Colombia, I currently hold the position of Sales Manager, overseeing operations in Mexico and Latin America. Prior to joining Ruptela, I worked for 5 and a half years in a Colombian satellite monitoring software development company.
I started my career in the world of telematics and GPS tracking in Colombia, but due to specific projects, they directed me to move to Mexico. During my time in Mexico, I had the opportunity to learn more about Ruptela and was very interested in the possibility of working for a hardware development company.

When and why did you join Ruptela’s team?

Two and a half years ago, I decided to join Ruptela. At that time, I was at an important moment in my life since I was about to have my son, and I was looking for better opportunities for my family, myself, and professional growth.
Given my desire to find a stable and supportive work environment with growth opportunities, I did my research and considered joining Ruptela. After evaluating my options, I decided to take the plunge and accept a position with the company.
Since then, I have been taking advantage of the possibilities to grow professionally and provide a better future for me and my family. So, my decision to join Ruptela has been part of my search for better opportunities and personal development.

How does your journey at Ruptela looks like?

While at Ruptela, I actively immersed myself in the Latin American market, gaining valuable insights and expanding my network among industry professionals in the region. This experience not only exposed me to new places but also allowed me to exchange knowledge and expertise.
Moreover, I am fortunate to have collaborated with highly experienced colleagues at Ruptela. Their wealth of knowledge and expertise has been pivotal in my professional growth and continuous learning.

How do you start your day? Please share any rituals or tips&tricks that help you stay productive all-day.

I start my day by waking up every day at 6:30 AM. I have a 2-year-old son, and we all get up to start the day, supporting each other. Then, I take my son to daycare and have breakfast with my partner. Together we plan the day’s activities.
After this, my workday begins. I participate in meetings and follow up on my pending tasks. It helps me focus on responsibilities and work goals.
At the end of the day, I pick up my son from daycare, and we head home. We enjoy game time and family fun, creating special moments together.

What motivates you to go to work every day?

Before starting my family, my primary motivation was personal and professional growth. I constantly sought opportunities to develop myself, acquire new skills, and achieve my individual goals. My priority was advancing my career, gaining recognition, and achieving success in my work field.
However, since I started my family, my perspective has changed significantly. Now, my motivation is not just limited to my own growth but has expanded to include the well-being and happiness of my family. My focus has shifted toward building a healthy and harmonious environment for my loved ones.
The responsibility of being a parent has taught me the value of balancing my personal goals and ambitions with the needs and wants of my family. My success is no longer measured solely by individual achievement but also by the love, unity, and well-being that I can bring to them.

What are your job’s most challenging and most cheering elements?

In a highly competitive work environment, we face various challenges daily. One of them is the intense competition that exists in the market, which can lead to pressure to keep prices low. Yet despite these obstacles, our focus is on excellent service and exceptional quality in everything we do.
Our ability to stand out from the competition is based on our commitment to excellence. We strive to exceed our customers’ expectations, offering innovative solutions tailored to their needs. This allows us to build loyalty with our existing customers, providing a solid foundation for growing our business.
In addition to maintaining strong relationships with our existing clients, we have successfully attracted new clients in Latin America. Through a proactive sales strategy and a focus on generating new business, we have expanded our customer base and increased our presence in the market.

In addition to my career, my family occupies a central place in my life. I enjoy sharing meaningful moments with my wife and son and find great joy traveling together and exploring new places.
Documenting our time with family and friends is one of my personal passions, whether through photography or video. These memories are precious treasures that allow us to relive and share memorable experiences over time.

Throughout my career, I have developed a deep understanding of GPS and GPRS tracking solutions in hardware and software, as well as the specific needs and challenges of the LATAM market. My primary goal is to provide clients with customized and effective solutions that meet their tracking and monitoring needs while driving tangible business results.


What is your favorite place in the world? Why?

Colombia is my favorite place in the world because it is where my family resides, and I can enjoy precious moments with them. Although geographic distance separates me from them in my daily life in Mexico, the family ties and shared experiences in Colombia remain close to my heart and enrich my life in unique and meaningful ways.

And the last one – could you share any advice for those who want to start their career in the telematics industry?

Acquire relevant knowledge and skills: research and become familiar with the fundamentals of telematics, including the concepts of telecommunications, tracking systems, sensors, and wireless communication, among others. Consider obtaining specialized education or certifications in the field to excel in the job search process.
Stay up-to-date: technology in the telematics industry is advancing rapidly, so it’s crucial to stay abreast of the latest trends, advancements, and developments. Follow blogs, participate in conferences or seminars, and keep in touch with other professionals in the field to stay updated with what’s new.
Look for hands-on experience opportunities: consider doing internships, projects, or volunteering at companies related to telematics. This will give you practical experience and allow you to apply your knowledge in a natural work environment. In addition, you can establish valuable contacts and expand your professional network.
